History of John Stewart and Associates
JSA began as John P. Stewart, Inc. in 1976 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. John Stewart founded his brokerage firm to provide fundamental analyses based on historical data and John’s own experience as a national/international commercial grain trader. In the mid-1980s, during the USDA PIK certificate program, John partnered with Tom Tucker, and by 1989 Tom had opened a branch office in San Antonio, Texas. 2001 saw the formation of John Stewart and Associates, Inc. (JSA), with John Stewart as trade advisor and head of research, and Tom Tucker and Doug Schultz (Missouri) as principals. The firm became a guaranteed introducing broker with Iowa Grain at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT now part of the CME Group.) In 2008 Iowa Grain was acquired by ADM Investor Services, Inc. (ADMIS) a subsidiary of ADM focusing on clearing and market information services. At that time JSA became a guaranteed Introducing Broker with ADMIS.
